Our next stop for Puffins.travel in Norway was Valldal. Here we stayed at Petrines guesthouse. A very cozy guesthouse with the best breakfast we’ve had during our trip. Full of local products and traditional Norwegian food. For people looking to go off the beaten track and discover a part of Norway that isn’t full of tourists, this is the spot!
Agniesca showed us around and took great care of us. She is holding a picture of Helene Petrine (born in 1824), the original owner of the house.
Valldal is close to Herdalssetra Mountain Summer Farm which is situated right in the heart of the World Heritage Site: The West Norwegian Fjords. There are numerous hike trails for every skill levels starting at the Summer farm. One word of advice: beware of the goats, they are very clingy and have no respect for personal space. 🙂
During our stay at Valldal we met up with Erlend from Valldal Naturopplevingar. He took us with him on a canyoning trip he put together for a group of 15 people. They followed a challenging course through the canyon, including rappelling, tight ropes, cliff jumping into the river, bouldering, a zip line and swimming. It was fun to see the participants getting over their fears and jump, climb, scream, swim,…
We made a short movie about Erlend and the canyoning trip. Drone shot are made by Stijn from stereographic.aero
